Since its establishment, the organization has been implementing various projects in Oromia, South West, Sidama, Afar, Tigray, Benshangul Gumuz Region, and Somali regional states as well as in Addis Ababa City Administration

Job Summary

The IT Support Specialist, also known as IT Personnel, is responsible for providing IT-related technical support to the organization. She/he installs, maintains, and troubleshoots hardware, software, and networking systems. Additionally, she/he assists employees with day-to-day technical issues, ensures data security, and conducts regular system upgrades and maintenance.

IT Support Specialist job description:

  • Technical Support: The IT Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to employees within the organization. Assist individuals with resolving hardware, software, and network issues to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Installation and Maintenance: She/he installs and configures hardware components, software applications, and networking equipment. IT Specialist ensures that all systems are up-to-date and functioning properly to meet organizational needs.
  • Troubleshooting: IT Specialist troubleshoots technical issues that arise within the organization. She/he diagnoses problems, identifies root causes, and implements solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • User Assistance: She/he provides guidance and support to employees on how to effectively use IT systems and software applications. IT Specialist offers training and resources to help employees make the most of technology tools.
  • Data Security: The IT Specialist is responsible for ensuring the security of data within the organization. She/he implements security measures, conducts regular audits, and responds to security incidents to protect sensitive information.
  • System Upgrades: The IT Specialist oversees system upgrades and modifications to enhance performance and efficiency. She/he stays current with technological advancements and implements changes to support organizational goals.
  • Network Administration: She/he manages and maintains the organization's network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches. IT Specialists monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network resources.
  • Documentation: The IT Specialist maintains detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. She/he creates manuals, guides, and records to ensure consistent operations and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Emergency Response: In case of IT emergencies or system failures, the IT Specialist responds promptly to address issues and restore operations. She/he deploys contingency plans and works efficiently under pressure to minimize downtime.
  • Communication: The IT Specialist supports the organization’s PR Officer in uploading different communication materials on different media platforms.
  • Websites: the IT Specialist administers and maintains organization websites along with the PR Officer.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as an IT Support Specialist/ IT Personnel. ( IT systems and networks.)
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often required for IT Personnel roles. Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), can also be beneficial.
  • Candidates should possess strong technical skills in areas such as hardware and software troubleshooting, network administration, system configuration, and data security. Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux), networking technologies, and IT tools is essential.
  • High attention to detail, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
