Job Summary:

As an HR Assistant with expertise in payroll and recruitment, you will play a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by assisting with payroll processing, recruitment activities, and various administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will contribute to the efficient operation of the HR function and the organization's overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Payroll Processing: Assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including data entry, verifying timekeeping records, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Benefits Administration: Support in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits. Assist with enrollment and answer employee questions.
  • Payroll Compliance: Stay updated on payroll tax laws and regulations, ensuring that the organization complies with all legal requirements.
  • Payroll Reporting: Generate payroll reports, both standard and ad-hoc, to assist in financial and HR analysis.

Recruitment:

  • Recruitment Support: Participate in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting initial phone screenings, and coordinating interviews with candidates.
  • Onboarding: Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, which may include preparing paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Candidate Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with job applicants, providing updates and feedback as needed.
  • Recruitment Compliance: Ensure that all recruitment processes adhere to legal and company policies, including EEO and diversity principles.

General HR Administration:

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including personnel files and electronic databases.
  • HR Documentation: Prepare and distribute HR-related documents, such as employment contracts, offer letters, and policy manuals.
  • Employee Relations: Provide support to employees regarding HR-related inquiries, benefits questions, and other HR matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Previous experience in HR, with a strong focus on payroll processing and recruitment.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and systems.
  • Familiarity with recruitment tools and methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.

Working Conditions: HR Assistants typically work in an office environment and may need to maintain regular office hours. However, some flexibility may be required to accommodate recruitment activities and payroll processing deadlines.
