Environment, Forest and Climate Change Commission (EFCCC) has finalized a REDD-f Investment Plan (RIP) as part of the effort to achieve the Climate Resilient Green Economy Strategy’s goals for the forest sector, the targets set in the National Forest Sector Development Program (FSDP) and in the REDD+ strategy. The implementation of the RIP is financially supported by the Royal Norwegian Government and the National REDD+ Secretariat (at EFCCC) coordinates the implementation of physical activities of the REDD+ Investment Plan (RIP) besides its role in coordinating REDD+ investments, safeguards, and MRV activities across the country. The regional REDD+ Coordination units (RRCUs) will be responsible for the implementation of PFM and other RIP intervention activities in 59 Woredas across Gambclia, SNNPR, and Oromia regional states focusing on the southwest forest block. The implementation of afforestation and reforestation activities will be earned out in 59 Woredas across Amhara, Oromia, SNNPRS, and Tigray and coordinated by the National Forest Sector Development Program. To this end, EFCCC is setting up a Forest Sector Transformation Unit (FSTU) for the implementation of the REDD+ Investment Plan, The unit will focus on supporting the implementation of forestry initiatives under the impact in afforestation/reforestation as well as forest protection in Ethiopia. The FSTU is planned to be set up with highly capable professionals who are distinctive in their held and with high aspirations on the development of Ethiopia and its forest sector. The National REDD't- Secretariat and the regional REDD+ Coordination Units of Oromia, SNNP and Gambella regional states supported with strategically placed RIP Cluster woreda coordinators and woreda PFM facilitators will ensure the implementation of the PFM component of the REDD+ Investment Program Moreover, the regional Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bureaus/Authorities will provide the appropriate leadership and coordination roles. As part of the regional RIP implementation, woreda Environmental Protection and Forest offices will be responsible for providing leadership on woreda and kebele level Participatory Forest management (PFM) activities as well as facilitation coordination of RIP intervention activities among sectors (Agriculture, Livestock, Energy). The woreda PFM Facilitators will provide technical support for the direct implementation of PFM as well as coordination of RIP financed activities in the crop, livestock, and energy sectors m their respective woredas. Besides, a coordination interface between region and woreda will be established through the assignment of a Cluster Woreda Coordinator within the Zonal EFCC office. In this institutional arrangement, RIP intervention woredas within a given zone constitute individual cluster woredas. The Cluster Woreda Coordinator will ensure that the required synergy and effective coordination are created among RIP implementation woredas within a zone Accordingly, the Gambella Region RCU will recruit 3 specialists for coordination Unit, 2 Cluster Woreda Coordinators for 2 zones (Majang and Agnua Zones) and 6 Woreda PFM Facilitators. Position: Woreda PFM Facilitator Required skills, compete tides and experiences: - A minimum of BSc degree in Forestry, Natural Resources Management, Environment, and Development or related fields. - A minimum of 4 years of professional or equivalent experience in Participatory forest management or forestry projects particularly in forest-based enterprise development and management, Duration: One year with possibility of extension based on performance Duty Station: Different Woredas of Gambella Regional States: Gog, Abobo, Gambella Zuria, Dima, Mengeshi & Godere Number of Position: 6 (Six) Notes: 1.
