Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD), an Ethiopian Resident Charity Organization, was founded in 1999 by a few volunteer youth who were concerned and hence aspired to contribute their part in the national effort to combat the spread of the HIV epidemic. Given its beginning, a major focus of MSD’s work has been in Health, Education, Livelihood, Migration, Child Trafficking and Environment. MSD is looking for qualified and competent applicants for the following position:- JOB SUMMARY Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD), a Non-Political and non-profit Ethiopian Resident Charity is currently implementing Different projects in Amhara, Addis Ababa and others, in collaboration with diverse partners and stakeholders involving the various community and government structures. USAID Community HIV Care & Treatment (CHCT) Activity is among the major projects that MSD currently is implementing in 4 major targeted HIV hot spot towns (Gondar, Bahir Dar, Debre Markos & Addis Ababa). Therefore, under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and senior MERL Coordinator He/she is responsible for coordinating, planning, developing and implementation of monitoring and evaluation system of the CHCT Project. She/he finally, liaises and prepares reports on monitoring and evaluation activities of the project. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Assist the development of MERL system, regularly track project progress and facilitate impact evaluation in terms of project’s contribution towards achieving wider objectives and goals; . Organize and/or conduct monitoring and internal reviews based on schedule; . Proper monitoring cheek list for the project office and the organization; . Together with the program prepare a periodic report (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual and Adhoc), consolidated annual work plans to be submitted to the donor relevant Government Offices and MSD Head office; . In place database CHCT Project intervention targets; . Conduct regular monitoring with project coordination team; . Provide technical assistance for CHCT staffs and the organization on data gathering documenting and reporting; . Makes filed visits and uses other appropriate methods to assess progress and impacts of projects implemented by project area and organization; . Organizes project evaluations against the original project and ensure that it suggests a way of correcting deviations; . Conduct regular RDQA and data verification . Consolidate monitoring and evaluation findings/data and make available for the project coordinator and other staffs; . Assist the presentation, delivery and documentation of research or key learning pieces to key stakeholders and policymakers involved in CHCT efforts; . Together with the program, conduct research and learning activities at a program level and coordinate expertise around baselines, learning reviews and evaluation related activities;. . In collaboration with other project units and partners, plans and coordinates joint monitoring visits and project review sessions; . Make sure project data is timely entered into the database: properly analyze data and generate analytical summaries to be used for reporting; . Document best experiences and lessons for learning when advised by the program officer and program coordinator; . Compile a quarterly monitoring and evaluation report and submit to his/her supervisor; . Provide training on documentation and adequate assistance for staffs and other relevant stakeholders . Facilitates compilation of regular monitoring reports prepared by different projects along with evaluation recommendations; . Provides data Seemed important for concept paper or proposal development; . Extend technical support to MSD Staffs in the identification of solutions to MERL challenges they are encountering; . Compile, share and disseminate lesson learned, promising practices and challenges; . Keeps up to date with developments in the sector (VSLA approach, including best practice examples in-country and internationally, and ensure on-going personal development and learning; . Ensure the communication of learning within the organization, with partners and other stakeholders; . Carry out other related activities as may be assigned by immediate supervisor. Reports to: Project Coordinator and Senior MERL Coordinator Length of Contract: 1-year contract with possibility of extension and availability of fund EDUCATION . BA/BSc in Economics, statistics, Sociology or related field. EXPERIENCE . 4 years of work experience in relevant jobs. TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS . Ability to analyze M&E technical issues, to write clear and concise reports and to make effective oral presentations; . Skills in developing M&E data collection tools, indicators and plans; . Computer literacy in the basic database and statistical software; . Excellent written and verbal English skills.
