Family Description

Finance (FI) comprises all finance and control activities, external and internal reporting, and capital allocation processes. Provides services in the areas of financial planning, accounting, controlling, reporting, performance management, tax, investor relations, treasury, and mergers and acquisitions.

Subfamily Description

Local Accounting (LAC) contains the local accounting activities in a given country and ensures compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements and regulations.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Your skills and experience

Regional Accounting is responsible for the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of services related to local compliance.

Main responsibility is to support tax & statutory compliance activities with high quality according to local regulations:

  • Accounting functions and statutory audits
  • Governance for regional accounting standards and requirements, indirect taxes, and corporate income taxes.
  • Ensure technical quality and support of accounting functions.
  • Business support regarding accounting
  • Ad hoc requests on a case-by-case basis

DETAILS

  • Processing of accounting activities and other related tasks for a country in the Region
  • Compliance of tax processes (improvement and development)
  • Support of statutory and tax audits
  • Prepare and coordinate Statutory posting and statutory financials
  • Partner for questions and issues arising from projects or daily business concerning accounting.
  • Identify, evaluate, report, and manage risks
  • Continuously monitors performance measures, proposing and implementing process improvement to increase process consistency, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Ensures visibility of the service organization's performance.
  • Support for FAM Internal Controls, and support other controls according to the control catalog.
  • Continuously monitors performance measures, proposing and implementing process improvement to increase process consistency, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Support compliance with indirect taxation, WHT, and corporate income tax processes for the Country; interface to the local tax authorities; Review tax returns and support tax audits
  • Support Manual payments and clearing processes
  • Support Treasury tasks related to engagement with banks, provisioning of bank statements to central teams, SOX controls, and funding of bank accounts

  • Need to be able to communicate fluently in English and Amharic

Knowledge & Experience

  • Certified Accountant (University degree in business administration with a focus on accounting)
  • Between 2 – 5 years of experience in Finance and Accounting in a company or an audit company
  • Good SAP and sound MS Excel skills.

ENVIRONMENT

  • The ability to work as part of a team is critical.
  • The ability to work with various company departments, including local management, tax authorities, auditors, and Service providers is critical
  • Having a flexible approach to work, especially when communicating with other Nokia groups, is essential.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and prioritize tasks.
