Job Description

Kasma Engineering is a private limited company registered and licensed in Ethiopia to conduct a wide spectrum of works mainly in engineering and construction fields. From its humble beginnings as an engineering company nearly two decades ago, Kasma has transformed into a fully integrated construction solution provider and continues to grow and operate in various sectors. With its headquarters located in the heart of Addis Ababa near the Gottera interchange, the company continues to work on various projects throughout the city and beyond. The headquarters office, stationed in its own newly built building, serves as technical support to provide the required expertise and overall management capacity to handle complex projects headed by all affiliates.

Position Overview:

The Office Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting construction projects by providing administrative and technical assistance to the project management team. This role involves maintaining project documentation, facilitating communication between on-site personnel and office staff, and ensuring project timelines and specifications are met.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, contracts, permits, and correspondence both electronically and in hard copy
  • Serve as a liaison between on-site construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and office-based staff.
  • Facilitate communication by relaying instructions, requests, and updates between various project stakeholders.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other technical staff to assist in the coordination of material procurement, delivery schedules, and inventory management.
  • Monitor project costs, expenses, and budget allocations, and report variances to the project management team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven 3 years experience in working in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations.
