Job Description

BelCash Technology Solutions PLC (BelCash Ethiopia) (BCTS) is an affiliate company of BelCash International, incorporated in the Netherlands, which provides Turnkey technology platforms based on the mobile phone. And other Telecom Value Added and related technological services Accordingly, it has partnered with specialized companies to provide essential services under the unique Hello Brand. BCTS provides Technology platforms, business consultancy, Branding, operational and marketing support, while the specialized companies provide the Service.

The Finance Director is responsible for recording, processing, summarizing, preparation, and issuance of financial statements on the company’s operation.

  • Develop and implement internal control procedures for cash and other financial assets and ensure the proper application of the same.
  • Establish and maintain cost and management accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist the budget and performance sub-unit in preparing the company’s annual budget and performance analysis.
  • Prepare periodical (interim or annual) financial statements and analyses for decision-making purposes whenever required.
  • Monitor revenue and expenditure transactions of the company.
  • Manage and supervise the daily operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities of the company.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital/fixed assets accounting, year-end closing entries, and audit schedules.
  • Oversee internal control functions and ensure the preparation and issuance of annual financial statements.
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and the like.
  • Work with the Finance Team and auditors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Prepares and submits periodic reports to the CFO.
  • Undertakes other duties as assigned by the CFO.

Managing Team:

  • Provide guidance and leadership for the team comprising of the Finance Manager, Senior, and Junior Accountant.
  • Ensure that any poor performance within the team has been dealt with the team and actively recognize and encourage strong performance.

Reporting:

  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports to the CFO.
  • Ensure the reports produced by the finance department are accurate and meet the IFRS standards.
  • Ensure reports such as financial statements and periodical reports are submitted on time.

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Minimum qualifications and requirements
  • Proficient with IFRS and reporting in IFRS
  • Have a strong background in financial accounting, reporting, and controls with 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Be able to translate complex data into insightful analysis, understandable to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Independently manage workload and priorities appropriately to meet deadlines.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset and openness to embracing change;
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to achieve results through influencing others;
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing and demanding environment.
  • CPA, ACCA, ACMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with senior decision-makers.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and SAGE software.
