About Deborah Foundation

Established in 2019 Deborah Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities through support in the areas of health Education, and Policy Advocacy.

Summary

The foundation strives to create a lasting change within the Ethiopian community through increased advocacy, quality health services, inclusive education, and building a strong policy infrastructure that is more inclusive for children and youth diagnosed with Down Syndrome in Ethiopia. The Foundation is currently engaging in capacity-building activities, which are vital in ensuring the rights to life and education of people with intellectual disability. Training professionals in the area of health and education sector is one of the priorities of the capacity-building strategy of The Foundation.

About the position

An HR Director (Human Resources Director) is an experienced professional responsible for developing HR strategies, overseeing operations, and ensuring compliance. They support the human factor, lead HR initiatives, and provide guidance. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Reporting to: CEO & COO employees attendances.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

  •  Develop corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, health and safety etc.
  •  Act to support the human factor in the company by devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development etc.
  • Oversee all HR initiatives, systems and tactics
  • supervise the work of HR personnel and provide guidance
  • Serve as the point of contact for employment relations and communicate with labor unions.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards.
  • Deal with grievances and violations invoking disciplinary action when required.
  • Anticipate and resolve litigation risks.
  • Report to senior management by analyzing data and using HR metrics.
  • Follow up.
