We?re hiring for Junior Accountant. Learn how you can be our voice in the conversation about the future of agriculture.

As Junior Accountant you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting to complete the accounting cycle in compliance with established practices and generally accepted accounting principles. Ensuring accounting information is complete and accurately recorded in the accounting system.

You, will Be Part of a Growing Team

Our core business functions are local production of corn seeds and selling of crop protection across the country. Finance/controllership being the support function to the main businesses, plays a very big role in making business partnerships by ensuring liquidity and profitability metrics are achieved.

Your Challenge:

  • Performing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with the company?s policy
  • Processing of supplier invoices: receiving and ensuring appropriate approvals are in place before processing in the system.
  • Supplier invoices payment, preparing payment vouchers for disbursements.
  • Preparation and writing of cheques.
  • Posting disbursements in the system.
  • Receiving Travel Expense Receipts from field staff, verification of physical receipts, ensuring within the recommended period with appropriate approvals.
  • Entering the approved Travel Expense Receipts in the system.
  • Sending staff their float advance/supplier account statements.
  • Managing petty cash and processing vouchers in the system.
  • Timely processing of month-end journal entries to facilitate preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Maintaining records and ensuring proper records filling and records management in line with company policy.
  • Managing ad hoc Finance tasks.

Qualifications

  • To Grow What Matters, You Will Need
  • 2+ years of accounting/finance experience in manufacturing
  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Knowledge of accounting systems i.e., Sage Pastel will be an added advantage
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English
  • Microsoft office knowledge mainly excel
