Summary

The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Management Specialist.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: NO

Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: NO

Travel Required: Occasional Travel, Travel is required approximately 25% of the time.

 

Duties

This position serves as the principal technical, analytical and cultural specialists to the Transportation Security Administration Regional Director (RD)/DHS Attaché (SES) responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships, working closely with national-level foreign government authorities and U.S. mission officials in the region to promote consistency and compliance between international aviation security standards, foreign government requirements and TSA regulatory programs at established and start-up commercial airports and other transportation modes in throughout Africa and the Middle East (AME) Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Qualifications and Evaluations

EXPERIENCE: Five years of general office management work experience within a customer-oriented environment is required. In addition, weekly work experience involving: financial activities such as maintaining budgets, accounts or bookkeeping; project management and coordination: data management, involving qualitative and quantitative analysis within law enforcement, aviation, the security sector, travel industry, or customer service is required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, International Relations, Aviation Law, Communications or related major required.

LANGUAGE:

  • Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing English and Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing Amharic are required of the position to communicate our TSA in-country site visits and ongoing aviation security maintenance calls.  (This may be tested)

  • (You are required to pass the English Placement Test (EPT) that is conducted by the Human Resources Office).
